The eToro Webtrader is one of the most popular trading platforms in the world. Here is a step by step guide showing you how to use it.
Once you have logged onto the e Toro account and entered the WebTrader, you will be presented with a trading screen which looks like the one shown below. The assets that are available for trading are shown in the classic list view format.
You can change the way the assets are displayed by clicking on the “Quick Rate View” button located on the top right hand corner of the trading screen. After clicking on the Quick Rate View button, the trading screen will change to look like the screenshot below.
To access the trading charts, you need to select an asset and click on the chart button. Once you have done that, a pop up window will appear showing the chart for your selected asset.
The eToro Web Trader also comes with an alarm feature which you can use to notify you when a set price has been reached. To set the alarm, you have to click on the “Audio Notification” button located next to the Chart button.
To open a trade, you need to first select the asset that you want to trade. Then you need to select the appropriate button for the direction of the trade that you want to trade - "buy" or "sell". In our example here, we used the GBP/USD as the selected asset and the long (Buy) position. Once you click on either the “Buy” or “Sell” button, the trade execution panel will open. Set the parameters of your trade and click the “Open Trade” button to execute the trade.
Once you have clicked the “Open Trade” button, you will see the following screen. An entry will appear under the “Open Trades” tab showing the asset purchased, the units purchased, the amount invested, the purchased price, the current price, the gain percentage and your profit or loss for that particular trade.
In order to close a trade, you need to click on the “Close” button which is located on the right side of the selected asset listed under the “Open Trades” tab.
After you click on the button, a panel will open requesting confirmation of the action. Click “Ok” to close the trade or click “Cancel” to leave the trade open.
Once you have closed a trade, the transaction will appear under the “History” tab.
